Door County needs workers, website created to help

DOOR COUNTY (WLUK) -- When you think Door County, vacation may be the first thing that comes to mind.

But the Door County Economic Development Corporation wants that to change.

"We`re really going to be making an effort to reach out, to go to people, to be present in those moments that they are looking for a life change," said Kelsey Fox, workforce development specialist.

She says right now Door County has at least 800 open positions.

The plan is to use the county economic development corporation`s new website, livedoorcounty.org, to market to and then attract more workers especially during peak vacation months.

"From May to about the end of October so that`s when we`re going to be hitting them hard both in county and out of county," Fox said...
