So declared President Donald Trump onstage last June at a press event at Foxconn’s new factory in Mount Pleasant, Wis. He was there to herald the potential of the Taiwanese manufacturing giant’s expansion into cheesehead country....

In a Jan. 30 interview with Reuters, Gou’s special assistant, Louis Woo, said the company was reconsidering its plans for an LCD factory in Mount Pleasant. Ken Notes: Someone at WEDC or in the Governor`s office needs to manage the "national press" on this issue. WE DID NOT SPEND $4.5 billion on ANYTHING. We offered this based on a potential project developing - still too large an incentive in my opinion but most of it was an incentive not an up front handout and will NOT be paid.

Personally I think we should use the national attention to offer any growing company, in the state or coming to the state, an incentive for hiring more employees or creating new jobs - ANY and EVERY growing company. I would also allow communities to invest in new brick and mortar for companies that fit into their long range plans and willing to guarantee new property tax value value! We are getting national attention why not use it to attract new businesses and support the ones already here! We could actually turn thsi disaster into one of the greatest economic development booms ever...
