WAUSAU - Shoppers at the Wausau Center mall could see a new development in the former Sears space, one of the previous anchor stores in the mall during its heyday.
A Plover-based company, Secure Fund LLC, offered $700,000 in late February to purchase the old Sears space in the Wausau Center mall from the city, according to a purchase offer made public in a city meeting agenda. The city owns the space, at 411 Washington St., and purchased it from Sears in December 2016, according state property records.
