New LifeCare Management Services LLC has informed state of Wisconsin officials that it intends to close in June a long-term, acute-care hospital in Pewaukee in space it leases from Froedtert Health.
The closure of the New LifeCare Hospitals of Milwaukee LLC facility, which does business as LifeCare Hospitals of Wisconsin, will occur on or around June 23 and result in the layoff of 171 employees, the company said in a mass layoff notice LifeCare sent to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development last week.
