City officials partnered with a developer to announce plans for a $40 million development project in Downtown Racine. Standing inside City Hall on Tuesday, Racine Mayor Cory Mason and Eric Hovde, CEO of Hovde Properties, announced plans to revitalize the former We Energies property at 233 Lake Ave.
This 3.55-acre site located at the southeast corner of Lake Ave. and Gaslight Drive just southeast of the Main Street bridge, was previously envisioned as the site for a $46 million arena. Those plans were scrapped in 2017.
