Meet the stadium builder who wants to revamp a slice of the South Loop


Wisconsin real estate developer Bob Dunn wants the state to finance part of a massive mixed-use project next to Soldier Field. Turns out he knows his way around some other state capitols, too.

When stadium developer Bob Dunn needs a reference, he can count on glowing endorsements from some big names in pro sports. People like Steve Tisch, chairman of the New York Giants, and Mark Murphy, president of the Green Bay Packers.

"He did a great job for us," Murphy says. "He was instrumental in the redevelopment of Lambeau Field."

But for Dunn right now, the opinions that matter most belong to big names in City Hall and Springfield. He needs to sell them on his biggest and riskiest deal yet: One Central, a massive mixed-use project next to Solider Field that could cost more than $20 billion and take more than two decades to build....   ...more
