The Legislature’s Republican-controlled finance committee prepared
Thursday to finish revisions to Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ state budget
by inserting a middle-class tax cut into the spending plan before
shipping the document on to the full Senate and Assembly. The committee has been tweaking Evers’ budget since May. The panel is scheduled to wrap up its work Thursday. The only area left to address is state taxes.
