Madison is facing a severe housing
crisis. Our strong economy and amazing quality of life are attracting
people from across the country. Our apartment vacancy rate is
ridiculously low, which pushes up rental costs. Developers want to add
much needed housing, with lots of subsidized units to serve low income
residents. Still the city feels the need to micromanage every project
which pushes up development costs and rents.... Ken Notes: Not nearly as bad as it once was, but we do need to rethink integrated housing options. I think we can do this with smaller units in a co-housing and micro housing environment. I love Phil Hands but he forgot historical preservation. | ||
