Amazon.com to build 1 million-square-foot Beloit distribution center


Amazon.com could open another major Wisconsin distribution center in Beloit, where it gained preliminary approvals Monday for a 1 million-square-foot building, according to an announcement by the city. 

Amazon.com is working with Atlanta developer Seefried Industrial Properties Inc. on the new center at Beloit’s Gateway Business Park. The main local incentive for the project is from the Greater Beloit Economic Development Corp., which would sell Seefried the land for only $80.08, or $1 an acre, executive director Andrew Janke told Beloit’s City Council on Monday....

Ken Notes: I wrote an article a few years back on the corridor that Beloit is in. Great things can be done, like this project, if we promote our central proximity to major metropolitan areas in the nation. Too bad we do not have high speed rail to support this network... P.S.
