Agency Is Removing Language Saying Some May Have To Repay The Money After Many Recipients Left ConfusedThe Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development said it will not ask unemployment insurance recipients receiving a new $300 weekly unemployment supplement to repay the supplement unless "otherwise required by law or based on future guidance from the federal government." The Federal Emergency Management Agency, which funds the program, notified DWD Friday that federal guidance requesting the money be paid back is unlikely. The benefit, created by the Trump administration under the Lost Wage Assistance program, supplements weekly unemployment benefits by $300 a week for six weeks in Wisconsin. | ||
