The state of Wisconsin is warning people about a surge of fraudulent activity concerning unemployment benefits this week.
The Department of Workforce Development says people were being contacted by email, social media, and phone calls.
A fake account called the “Wisconsin Department of Workforce” was trying to get personal information with the goal of intercepting the victims’ unemployment insurance benefits.
